Hey friends! Who else feels like their “to read” pile of books gets taller by the day? I have a list on my phone where I keep track of book recommendations and it is growing by the minute! Reading is one of my very favorite things, but that being said, it is something I rarely make time to do! To try and make it more of a priority one of my goals for the month of October is to read every day! I’m hoping that it will become more of a habit!
Right now I am reading Simply Rich which is an autobiography of our Grand Rapids favorite, Rich Devos. So far I am loving it (although I am not that far in). It is so awesome to hear about his childhood and his strong faith in God. It makes me love him even more! Next up, I am looking at a few books! I have been listening to the Happy Hour Podcast a TON lately while I edit, and each episode has so many great recommendations! Today I thought I would share a few books that have caught my eye! Who knows if I will actually end up reading all of these, but I have already started a few of them! If you are looking for something to read this month, I may have your next book below! If you click on the title of each book it will take you to a page with a description, ratings, and reviews!
Shattered by Jessica Rasdall – Jessica is just an amazing human. Her story is so so powerful. After knowing of her for quite some time I had the privilege of meeting her at Creative @ Heart and she is every bit as awesome as she seems! I bought this one already, and can’t wait to dig into it!
Bread & Wine by Shauna Niequist – I have loved every book I’ve read by Shauna Niequist, but haven’t gotten to this one yet! Hoping to get to it soon!
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand – I know that this book is well known because of the movie, but I’ve never read it or seen the movie! I have heard countless good things about the book, so I think it’s time I give it a try!
The Road Back to You by Ian Morgan Cron & Suzanne Stabile – Everyone is talking about this book!! Several people have recommended this one to me because they know I am so fascinated by personality tests! I took the Enneagram test a while back and it immediately sparked an interest in this book!
The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh – This is one that Jamie talked about on the Happy Hour and I am really looking forward to reading it!
